Lost and Found

A leather bound journal

for all its dirt and dust and decay

appears suitable for recovering whatever’s inside

crack it open to find

a foundation for pressed flowers,

worried corners of dreams,

water-stained wishes,

faded photos of smiling faces, and

inked words crisscrossed with

sudden bursts of self doubt.

A record of ramblings and remembrance.

NaPoWriMo Day 26 – Explore an object or place from the point of view of a far-off future scientist.

Worried corners of dreams & sudden bursts of self-doubt – lines to savor and reread and ponder. You do this writing thing so well!

I think this is your best writing I have read so far Lynn, a journal is such a scared thing to me, this one was a beautiful tribute, each line so thoughtfully etched.
