Peppermint Twist

Peppermint twist melts in the open dawn

refreshing whisper-dance of green-breeze

lullaby-leaves

curls and skips against spring-rose breath.

The sound of storms spark an echo,

jar ghost giggles to spill from shadow-clouds…

(s)till

a grin journey-skips

across drizzle and scars,

cues a shimmer bubble-balloon.

dVerse – Quadrille Monday (all the words so far).

Thank you, Frank! I think that’s one of my favorite parts. Probably because I struggled to fit the word lull into it and then finally realized I could make it lullaby *and* a hyphenated word to keep it at the required 44 words.

This is such a marvelous line; it gives a unique take on the sounds of a thunderstorm. Well done!

Ghost giggles is one of my favorites, too. I love all things peppermint, so even though the use of the word ‘pepper’ could go in so many directions, I knew I had to go with something peppermint.
