Sunday Whirl

Post heartache –

She carries a mean trigger finger,
born of seas of nothing
and poor excuses strung together
by picking apart hollow lines.

You –

Carry a beam
that can shake it apart
line the hollows of her heart
string together nothing but seas
born of meaning.

Where heartache fades –

Sunday Whirl – this week’s words:  nothing, carry, post, sea, pick, trigger, poor, string, mean, beam, shake, born

Loved the expression “Born of seas of nothing”. I must admire your economy in using the wordle words.

Thank you. I usually try to use the tanka form, but sometimes the words don’t present themselves in such a way, and I have to expand a little more. I like to keep them short if I can.

Nice one, Lynn. Heartache fades once you allow it.

Yes, we never know the deep value in a random act of kindness. And that might be a very good thing,

Wow! The picking apart / shaking apart contrasts really hit the stanzas with meaning. Nice!

Post heartache — Where heartache fades and the picking apart of what comes between with meaning. So well done.

  7. Her heartache is met head-on by his strong demeanour. Not evenly matched she suffers quietly.
True in many instances for young girls just learning the ropes of mysterious ‘love’
